National Day May of Service
This year, as has been the case for the past 5 years, the first Saturday of the month of May is dedicated as the VFW National Day of Service. Activities can run throughout the month, and that’s what we’re going to do at Post 3345. It will be our “May of Service”!
This year, we are going to help take care of our neighbors in need by having a food drive in support of the Strongsville Food Bank. Any non-perishable food items will be appreciated; however, Bill Overton spoke with the director of the Food Bank and we were told to concentrate on the following items as the most needed and beneficial to our local population.
- Canned heat-and-serve foods, such as SpaghettiOs’s, ravioli, chili, beef stew, etc.
- Canned tuna fish, soups - Dry breakfast cereals - Baby foods
- Even diapers – certainly not food, but clearly needed!
We will have collection bins throughout the month of May, and will empty them periodically to bring to the Food Bank when full. Thank you for your generosity and helping us Strengthen our Community!
